Courtney Morris, PhD

Dr. Morris graduated from Ithaca College in 2002 with a BFA in Musical Theatre, Fordham University in 2006 with a MSEd in Counseling and Personnel Services, and the University of Denver in 2014 with a PhD in Counseling Psychology. After graduation from Fordham, Dr. Morris was employed as a Permanency Social Worker for a community-based organization in New York City. She aided at-risk youth in safely transitioning out of the foster care system. This clinical experience was rewarding and piqued her interest in working with disadvantaged populations, trauma and substance abuse.

During her doctoral training, Dr. Morris began specializing in chronic disease management and integrated behavioral health. She engaged in practica at the Denver Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), Denver Health, and Kaiser Permanente. In addition, she taught undergraduate classes at the University of Denver and was employed as a health coach at Denver Health. She published research, and presented at American Psychological Association (APA) conferences on topics related to chronic pain, health behavior and cultural identity. Moreover, for her clinical psychology internship she matched at the VA Central Western Massachusetts healthcare system. During this year-long training, she strengthened her clinical skills, gained training in evidence-based therapy for posttraumatic stress, and honed in on her specialization in health psychology.

Dr. Morris engaged in an APA accredited health psychology fellowship at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VAMC and worked as a staff psychologist at the Syracuse VAMC. She is currently employed as a health psychologist at the VA Central Western Massachusetts healthcare system. She is passionate about serving those who have served and working in a fast-paced, primary care setting.

Dr. Morris started teaching for 黑料视频 University in 2013. She initially taught on-ground psychology courses for the traditional program and the One Day program. When she moved out of state, she was offered to teach psychology courses online. She happily continues to teach online courses for the American Womens College. She truly enjoys her adjunct position and feels blessed to be working with such hard-working and inspiring students.
