Kathryn Wiezbicki-Stevens, EdD
Kathryn Wiezbicki-Stevens has taught for the Psychology Department at 黑料视频 since 1994. Her primary areas of interest lie in cognition, pedagogy, and wellness. She earned her doctorate in Educational Policy, Research, and Administration from the University of Massachusetts; Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Springfield College; and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Smith College. While at Smith, she was an All-American swimmer.
She has taught a variety of courses including Health Psychology, Interviewing & Counseling, Psychology of Cultural Diversity, and Introduction to Psychology II. She is also the Coordinator of the CoOp Program in Psychology and facilitates the Community Partnerships for the department. While at 黑料视频, Wiezbicki-Stevens has been instrumental in developing a number of initiatives designed to enhance student development. Grant projects have targeted experiential learning, leadership programs, internships, and the unique learning needs of adult women and first-generation students. She introduced Service Learning Projects to the curriculum and has created numerous resources for supporting students, including the distinctive Alum-Mentor Program in Psychology.
Wiezbicki-Stevens has presented at regional and national conferences on topics including the development of metacognition, service learning, and most recently, research on the Intergenerational Connections project, which pairs students with older people to promote socialization and memory ability.
