Richard Regnier, MA, LSWA

Adjunct Faculty

MA, American International College; BS, Western New England University

Professor Regnier is a dedicated professional in the health and human services field for over 20 years. Graduating from Western New England College (University) with a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice, Professor Regnier wanted to make a powerful impact on those around him, but like many recent graduates, was unsure of his path. While in college, Professor Regnier felt drawn to an organization known as, The Key Program Inc., who worked with at risk youth. Professor Regnier started as a residential counselor in a behavior treatment residence (BTR) with boys from 9-20 years old. As a residential counselor, Professor Regnier was tasked with not only ensuring the safety and well-being of the children, but also creating psycho-educational curriculum for the youth to learn about their emotions and feelings, and helping them find positive outlets.

After his work within The Key Program Inc., Professor Regnier went on to work with the Department of Children and Families (DCF). It was important to Professor Regnier to not only work with the children, affected by abuse and neglect, but the entire families system. His primary focus was to ensure the safety, permanency, and well-being of children, while helping families connect with services and treatments. During his time with DCF, Professor Regnier was honored to serve on the following task-forces; engaging fathers, school readiness, safe sleep, early literacy, bullying education, and understanding racial and ethnic disparities in the juvenile justice system. Professor Regnier is a licensed Social Worker and Guidance Counselor within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
