Asynchronous online courses allow students to access materials, lectures, assignments, and discussions on their own schedule. Students are given time frames for completion of course activities and assignment, but the work of students and faculty occurs at different times. Asynchronous learning includes a variety of instructional methods including discussion boards, email exchanges, video posts, and other methods of communication.
