Undergraduate Honors Programs

At 黑料视频 University, we offer an honors program to match your interests! And Honors students are eligible for an Honors Scholarship, in addition to other 黑料视频 scholarships.

As members of a close-knit community, honors students enjoy thought-provoking seminars, small classes, leadership opportunities, and community service experiences that are invaluable for advancing your chosen career or going on to graduate school.

Women in STEM Honors Program (WiSH)

Eligibility

  • for entering First Year Students: high school GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • for Transfer Students: college GPA of 3.75 or higher

Housed within the Center of Excellence for Women in STEM, the 黑料视频 Women in STEM Honors Program (WiSH) offers a four-year curriculum consisting of integrated and advanced study and research for women dedicated to becoming scientists.  Women in STEM Honors areas of study include: Biochemistry, Biology, Biology: Secondary Education, Forensic Science, and Medical Science.

 

The WiSH Advantage

  • Renewable annual $2,500 WiSH scholarship.
  • Participate in project-based seminars, designed to nurture your development in the scientific or technological field and advance the skills needed for your future profession.
  • Begin actual research during your first year in collaboration with faculty and other professional and peer mentors in order to prepare for graduate and professional school, as well as dynamic careers in industry and medicine.
  • Receive mentoring from upper-class students, faculty, and from accomplished scientists in the field.

I enjoy working with the faculty and looking at different aspects of science from climate change to the challenges that women face in terms of health. The arts and sciences are avatars of human creativity. Use your imagination and creativity and submit a written piece, video (three minutes or less), blog, digital portfolio, research documentation, music recording, piece of visual art or other medium that works best for you to express your views on the above quote.
  3. Submit one recommendation by an individual who can speak to you scientific and/or research ability and potential.

The Women in Business Honors Program (WiBH)

Eligibility

  • for entering First Year Students: high school GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • for Transfer Students: college GPA of 3.75 or higher

Areas of study include: Accounting, Business Administration, Marketing, Interior Design: Residential & Commercial, Nonprofit Management, Hospitality Management and Small Business Development. 

The WiBH Advantage

  • Renewable annual $2,500 WiBH scholarship.
  • Participate in project-based seminars designed to enhance and develop their skills in business.
  • Enjoy challenging leadership and networking activities, in collaboration with faculty and other professionals, which will prepare you for graduate school or dynamic careers in business and industry.
  • Receive mentoring from upper-class students, faculty, and accomplished women in the field.

The Honors Program 

Eligibility

  • for entering First Year Students: high school GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • for Transfer Students: college GPA of 3.5 or higher

In your first two years: Participate in discussion-based, one-credit interdisciplinary seminars, team-taught by faculty, giving you unique perspectives from diverse academic areas such as education studies, history, legal studies, or psychology.

In years 3 and 4: Pursue academic interests through special projects or a thesis, working one-on-one with their advisor or faculty mentor.

Honors Program Advantages

  • Exciting leadership-building opportunities to choose from, such as Honors Council, Honors Symposium, Honors Social Events, the Women’s Leadership Conference, and special lectures.
  • Honors students will have their participation documented in their transcripts.

How to Apply

Students, including Transfer students, who qualify for the Honors Program will be invited to apply for admission to the program. Our faculty seeks to admit approximately 20-30 promising students to the Honors Program each year. Transfer students will be required to make up the one-credit courses they missed unless they participated in an honors program at their previous school. 

To accept your invitation to participate in our program, please . Space is limited to participate in the Honors Program. Students who do not submit their paperwork before the program reaches capacity will be placed on a waitlist. 

Honors Program Mission Statement:

The 黑料视频 Honors Program provides the academically talented and exceptionally motivated student with uniquely challenging and intellectually stimulating educational opportunities beyond the traditional curriculum. Under the guidance of faculty known for their excellence in teaching and scholarship, students investigate special topics in interdisciplinary honors seminars. The Honors Program culminates in a major independent creative or research project, or other departmental requirement.
