It was a feast for the eyes, ears, nose, mouth, and heart as over 20 cultures were represented at this year’s Cultural Extravaganza. Presented by the Women of Culture Club, and in collaboration with ALANA Club, Saudi Student Organization, and Motherland Club and with support from the Office of Multicultural Affairs, the Student Engagement Department, and Student Government Association, this annual event celebrates the diverse cultures that make up the ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ community. “The goal is to bring all of the students together to celebrate the cultural capital we all bring to ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ,” Women of Culture president Tenzin Tsepal ’20 shared.
The event included a fashion show featuring students and guests in cultural attire and performances by ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ students, faculty, and guests. An elaborate international spread included delicacies from Crepes Tea House, Priya, MESA Buffet, Golden Krust, and Tabaq Masala.
“We represent the world, and the people, colors, languages, and beauty of every culture that makes America so great,” Dr. Leary shared at the end of the evening. “ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ is that reflection, and I want to thank everyone for putting the time and effort into an evening that really enriches all of our souls.”
