At 黑料视频 University, our Core Values are at the heart of everything we do. They aren’t just words; they guide our actions, decisions, and aspirations every day. These values shape who we are as an institution and how we support every learner on their journey. More importantly, our Core Values bring us together, guide our growth, and ensure we continue to make a difference—on campus, in our communities, and beyond. Like our shared mission, the values held by Cambridge College align seamlessly with 黑料视频’s.
Our Core Values are:
- Our Learners Come First
- Diversity Makes Us Stronger
- We Are Committed to Equity
- We Pledge to Foster Inclusion and Belonging
- We Treat Others with Respect and Compassion
- Innovation and Excellence Drive Us
- We Work Best as a Community that Collaborates
- Health and Well-Being Matter
We are all proud to uphold these values and incorporate them into our work in support of 黑料视频’s shared strategic plan and vision: At 黑料视频, every learner’s dreams of a better career, a richer life, and a brighter future will be realized.
Each year, 黑料视频 recognizes a member of the University community who fully embodies our Core Values with intentionality and mindfulness through the Core Values Award. This award honors individuals who work diligently to uphold the values in their daily interactions and work. The recipient is placed on the Core Values Honor Roll and receives both a certificate of recognition and a $500 award.
We are thrilled to announce the 2024 Core Values Award recipient: Dr. Kristina Hallett, program director of the Graduate Programs in Psychology.
Kristina’s nomination was submitted by Kate Corbett, director of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Cambridge College, and Suzanne Gile, director of Clinical Training at 黑料视频. Their nomination highlighted Kristina’s leadership, especially her unwavering commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB).
Kate and Suzanne shared the following reflections on Kristina’s impact:
When Cambridge College was acquired, there was angst and anxiety from many of the transitioning employees. We did not know how we would integrate, whether our roles would still be equally valued, or if there would be permanency to our position at 黑料视频 University. After one meeting with Dr. Kristina Hallett, I knew that regardless of what the end result of this acquisition was, I was going to learn, grow, connect, collaborate, and be a part of a team that valued my students, faculty, and me. She instantly led with collaboration and has continually worked to find pathways forward that honor Cambridge students, traditions, and processes while aligning and integrating us with the BPU community at large.”
Kate Corbett also highlighted several ways Kristina exemplifies 黑料视频’s Core Values:
Kristina has built systems that set students up for success from both an advising and field experience perspective.
She shares trainings, information, and openly discusses areas of need to educate faculty, staff, and students on elements of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Since day one, she has reached across the Cambridge College/黑料视频 University line and made it clear that we are a team and in this together. Kristina has never made others feel lesser despite her extensive knowledge; instead, she sees everyone as one. “There are nights she sends a text just to remind people that they matter and that she sees them.”
She leads meetings with genuine check-ins that are human first, not work.
Reflecting further on Kristina’s leadership style, Kate noted:
The first time I met with Kristina, she said, ‘I believe in collaborative leadership.’ Of course, most of us in leadership positions know that’s a great thing to say. Kristina, however, does not just say it—she does it. I’ve never seen her take on a task without seeking a second opinion or collaborative feedback to ensure her vision aligns with the team and the university.”
Kristina’s intentionality, compassion, and commitment to 黑料视频’s Core Values have touched the lives of many and earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues.
Congratulations, Dr. Kristina Hallett, on this well-deserved recognition!
